Home Business Blog Success – What’s the Secret?

Your Home Business Blog Success

Home Business Blog Success

OK I am going to share with you the secret to your home business blog success. Are you Ready?

Are you sure?

Here it is – GET STARTED

It really is that simple. You have obviously come this far and gotten your domain name with GoDaddy.com and hosted your site with Hostgator.com right. Well then start writing your content and providing value to your readers. Create posts, they don’t have to be perfect, lord knows when I started I had no idea what I was doing. But here I am writing yet another post to provide you (the reader) with some value. Something to kick your butt and get you moving forward. An online business is a forward moving machine.

Home Business Blog Success – Don’t Wait for Perfection

If you sit and fret over a small detail on your blog like the header logo or the placement of your share bar guess what. You are not writing content. If you are not writing content and bringing value to your readers….. well you are dead in the water. Literally. Now don’t get me wrong. These little things on your blog are important. They are very important. But they can wait. The most important thing for your home business blog success is for the almighty Google to see it. That’s right, the search engines need to be able to crawl your site and decide where to place you in the search engines. If you have done your keyword research properly then you might even make it to the front page…… where you really want to be.

Home Business Blog Success – What You Need

  1. Get started
  2. Write content that provides value
  3. Use your keyword research
  4. Post daily
  5. Don’t be afraid to use video
  6. Ensure you include pictures in your posts
  7. If your using products to help you, become affiliates of those products and include links in your blog posts.
  8. Create a sales funnel (upper right hand of your blog main page) to allow people to subscribe to your blog or product you are selling. This allows you to capture their info and let you contact them to provide even more value.

    Hi Dave,

That reminds me of a quote that I created – ” Starting Out Small Is Still Starting Out”…

We really agree with this post, it is so crucial to actually just start and keep going, lord knows we are a consulting group for small business owners, and guess what our site is not perfect…. I know – it is like throwing rocks in a glass house….but hey, we focus on bring a new blog post to our clients each and every day, and they get value from it. Is it life shattering if a color is not right, or a picture is off center….nope!

Thank you for sharing this with people, people need to start!

Thanks Robert. I am glad you agree, people often fuss over the small details instead of getting down to what is important. Business.

Hey Dave, I have to admit that when I started my blog I did fuss over making things just perfect. And guess what? Content didn’t get written. So I decided to just get going and start providing value. Now it is written and posted daily. It is stlll not perfect, but evolving. I needed the kick in the butt from you about #5. That will be next.

Hey Sigrid, thanks for the comment. The problem is most… even me…. find themselves struggling over the details instead of getting to the meat of the blog. Am glad this post is helping.

    Hi Dave,

    Great post!

Not waiting until things are perfect is a very valuable piece of information you are imparting here.

I think the key is just to get started and adjust and adapt as you go along.

I personally struggle with writing everyday, so I stopped beating myself up about it and write 2-3 posts per week, which I think works better for me.

    All the very best,

    Greg

Hey Greg thanks for the comment. Everyone struggles for content and the “guru’s” will tell you that you must post everyday. This is true but not everyone sits at home all day on their business…. Yet…. they have lives and time limitations. The key is get started and be consistent.
